Nördlich von Los Angeles, in den „High Deserts“, wüten gewaltige Buschbrände. Als die Feuerwalze näher kommt, wird auch das „Villalobos Rescue Center“ evakuiert. Zusätzlich zu den Mitarbeitenden der Rettungsstation müssen etwa 200 Hunde in Sicherheit gebracht werden! Nur dem schnellen Eingreifen der Feuerwehr ist es zu verdanken, dass Schlimmeres in letzter Sekunde verhindert werden kann.
Auch in dieser Folge: Freilaufende Hunde aus der Nachbarschaft sorgen in Villalobos für Ärger, und Ex-Häftling Joe trainiert den tauben Pitbull Bowie, damit der Vierbeiner endlich ein neues Zuhause bekommt.

Hier finden bis zu 200 Pitbulls Platz - eine Hunderasse, die oft zu unrecht in ein schlechtes Licht gerückt wird. Auch Tias Töchter leben und arbeiten in der Hunderettungsstation, deren Hauptziel es ist, die Vierbeiner wieder an ein neues Zuhause zu vermitteln. Zudem bekommen bei Chefin Tia auch schwere Jungs eine zweite Chance: Die Ex-Knackis und Bewährungshäftlinge unterstützen das Projekt und finden dadurch nicht nur einen Job, sondern auch einen Weg zurück in die Gesellschaft.
