Als Familie Perron Anfang der 70er Jahre in ein altes Farmhaus in Rhode Island zieht, lässt der Spuk nicht lange auf sich warten: Die Eltern und ihre fünf Töchter werden von paranormalen Aktivitäten der extremsten Art quasi überrollt. Verzweifelt bitten sie die bekanntesten Ermittler jener Zeit um Hilfe, brechen die Séance jedoch ab, als die Hausherrin während der Kontaktaufnahme ins Jenseits quer durch den Raum geschleudert wird.
